Sprout Certification

What it means to be Sprout Certified.

See how training works
How it's earned

What a caregiver did to earn it.

01

Completed a full age group

Certificates are earned by age group: infant, toddler, or school-age care. A caregiver has to pass all of the lessons in that group, not just one.

02

Watched the videos

Each lesson starts with a bite-size, expert video. The certificate shows the total training time they put in.

03

Practiced in simulations

Where a lesson includes a 3D simulation, they worked through real scenarios and made the calls themselves.

04

Passed the quizzes and a final exam

Each lesson ends with a quiz, and each age group ends with a final exam. The certificate is only issued once they pass them all.

Reading a certificate

What's on a Sprout certificate.

Each certificate is specific, dated, and tied to one caregiver, so you can see exactly what they completed.

  • The caregiver's name and the age group they're certified in
  • The date it was issued
  • A unique Certificate ID
  • The total training time they completed
  • The lessons they passed

Good to know

What a Sprout certificate isn't.

When it comes to children, you deserve to know exactly what you're looking at. A Sprout certificate is a record of training completed with Sprout. It is not:

  • A state childcare license
  • An accredited credential, such as the CDA
  • A replacement for CPR and First Aid certification, which needs in-person, hands-on skills testing
Tip for families and employers: for CPR and First Aid, look for a current card from an in-person course, such as the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association. Sprout training pairs well with it.
For families, employers & centers

Know where someone stands, before and after.

A short assessment you can give before you hire, and again after training. See real progress in numbers, and know exactly which lessons to assign first.

  • Screen candidates with a quick knowledge check before you hire
  • Measure progress with a before-and-after assessment from Sprout
  • Place each caregiver in the right lessons, so the most important ones come first
